CAT – FACTS and FIGURES

CAT stands for Common Admission Test jointly conducted by All Indian Institutes of Managements (IIM’S). List of IIM’s following CAT score are IIM AHMEDABAD, IIM BANGALORE, IIM CALCUTTA, IIM INDORE, IIM LUCKNOW, IIM KOZHIKODE, IIM SHILLONG. The number of candidates appear for CAT every year is around 3- 3.5 lack. There are three steps in the selection procedure of CAT- the written test, group discussion and at last personal interview. CAT follows negative marking scheme. Each correct answer carries one mark and incorrect deducts 1/3 mark. Score of CAT entrance exam is evaluated in percentile form, but the total exam pattern is divided into three major sections- problem solving, data interpretation and verbal reasoning.

In CAT no one can guarantee you about the type and nature of question to be asked. There are various types of questions from various topics from different sections. The candidate can have a better idea about the paper pattern by looking and practicing previous year paper. Cut off list for every section in the exam is different for every year. There is no such cut off as individual sectional cut off for the exam. The time and effort one should put in his preparation is entirely depends on his abilities and capabilities. The time factor needed for preparation can’t be answered in concrete terms, but generally for problem solving section two to three months, for reasoning section two months and for verbal section dedicated four months are enough.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND SYLLABUS DETAILS

Aspirants can obtain a CAT application form from selected branches of AXIS bank by paying the form fee. CAT application forms should be sent to the nearest IIM. The entire form is having 35 inquiry boxes. The candidates have to fill the boxes according to asking details, the details are ranging from personal details to academic background of the aspirants.
The written test of CAT is divided into three major sections and the questions are asked from the following topics-

1) Problem solving- The topics covered in this section are arithmetic, algebra, geometry and advanced mathematics.
2) Reasoning – The topics covered in reasoning section of CAT is data interpretation, data sufficiency and logical reasoning.
3) Verbal Ability- Topics covered are reading comprehension and verbal usage and ability.

Panic Attack While Sleeping – Improve Your Breathing Upon Awakening

Panic attacks while sleeping are also known as night terrors or anxiety attacks. They are a horrible thing to suffer from because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the sufferer of why they occur. While there are many different theories out there that try to explain anxiety while sleeping, one thing that matters the most is what the panic sufferer can do about them. Below is a bit of history of how I conquered my anxiety in general and while sleeping. Years ago I suffered from severe panic attacks, they were debilitating and seemed to get worse no matter how much I practiced deep breathing. I was working with a massage therapist at the time and during one of our sessions she told me why I could not calm myself. While being trained in hypnosis, I learned the technique of proper breathing.

I realized how essential it is for individuals to breathe properly. Whether it is for anxiety, hypnosis, meditation, relaxation, or better health it is important to breathe properly. So what is the correct way to breathe? While inhaling your stomach should go out and on exhale you stomach should go in. That was one of my biggest problems at the time of my panic attacks. When you breathe improperly, you will notice your stomach going in on inhale. It shows that you are using the chest more and getting shallow breathes. A good way to practice proper breathing is to place a book on your stomach. Is the book going up on inhale and down on exhale? If not, then you are not breathing properly. This book technique is a very great way to calm yourself after an panic attack upon awakening. Another way to observe proper breathing is to watch an infant while they sleep. If you notice their breathing and their stomach movements, you will see that their stomach goes out on inhale and in on exhale.

Breathing is so important for relaxation and better health. Learning the proper way to breathe has made a difference in my clients’ lives, as well as my own. By just changing simple breathing techniques you may find that you can fix numerous issues you might be having. Learning to breathe properly upon awakening from a panic attack is crucial. It will bring your system back down to normal so you can rationally calm yourself down. By practicing the correct breathing described above during the day as well as at night when you drift off into sleep will assist you in calming yourself when you awaken from panic. After you awaken from a panic attack start practicing breathing right away.

It may be helpful to keep a book by your bedside so that you can place it there to see if you are breathing the correct way. This technique will take practice especially if you have been suffering from anxiety while sleeping for some time. However, with due diligence, you will be able to master the proper breathing technique and therefore master your panic attacks while sleeping. Keep in mind also that you are not alone in sufferering from these attacks by remembering this will help ease your mind that you are not losing your mind.

Anxiety stress and fear are damaging emotions. These emotions affect the physical health of your body as well as your emotional health. We are told in the word to cast our care upon him for he cares for us. The Bible also says to seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you as well. As we draw near to God he will draw near to us. As we cast our care upon him he will take care of those situations which concern us. The Bible says that as we come to God in prayer believing we will receive. It is God’s desire to care for us and to care for our loved ones. We can trust him with our lives.

Healing anxiety, stress and fear is possible as we learn to daily cast our cares upon him. The meditation of our hearts must become truths pertaining to His word. The truth provided in the Word of God lets us know God’s perspective. It is God’s desire that we prosper and for us to experience good health. The chemicals which are released during stress and anxiety are called adrenaline and cortisol. These chemicals cause our body to react in a fight or flight response. Every cell in our body responds to the release of these chemicals. Every cell in our body also responds to the peace of God when we yield to the truths of God. Overcoming emotional disturbances is possible as we learn to cast down imaginations and thoughts that do not line up with the truths given in God’s Word.

Overcoming anxiety and stress will take place as you keep your mind stayed on Christ. Place your trust in God’s hands. Allow yourself to visually imagine placing the cares of the world at the feet of Jesus. As you yield your thoughts to the peace offered by the truths in the Word of God you will experience Jesus healing anxiety, stress and fear in your life.
